Well, for Arsenal's fans and me, we are always waiting for the offical bid from Arsenal

Xhaka and Partey were largely great last season, bar maybe the last month or so but you could criticize any Arsenal player during that time period.

It's not about slating them as players. But if we're going to win the PL we need to get more points / wins and we need to look at areas of the pitch we can improve on even if it's harsh on the current starters.

Xhaka and Partey as I've said were great but with Xhaka at 8 your limiting us a bit tactically and at times when we struggled last season there was a bit of a lack of mobility / power in the CM region. We got overrun there a bit too often.

Xhaka and Partey are at an age now ( around 30) where they're not really going to improve technically footballers or add that mobility / power to their game.

Keep one of them as rotation / back up / experience, fine, but we do need to try and improve that area of the pitch as well as looking towards the future and make ourselves a bit more tactically flexible.

That West Ham fan on their forum compared it to when they sold Rio to Leeds in 2000 (though they felt that Leeds wasn't a step up for them either back then ) that's a good comparison... Ferdinand wouldn't have been as good at United, without that 2 seasons at Leeds first.

Rice needs a few years at a Champions League level team, before he would be ready for a guaranteed title winning one...you shouldn't discount the change in pressure in playing for clubs expected to be higher up the table, despite how good Rice has been.

Though as I said before, hopefully we can get to that level pretty soon.
