Im not disagreeing. But, i find it hard to believe, that a player without CL football in many, many years, would choose to leave for a club not in the CL.

Something must have happened imo, maybe he feels let down by Arsenal going in for Rice after he himself has had a very solid season.

Na, no chance he hasn’t been told already that he’s being dropped out the first XI next season. Xhaka wants to always play and be involved, hence why he’s going. Who would we be bringing in that would concretely drop Xhaka so that Arteta literally has to tell him this? Can’t think of anyone but Rice.

Xhaka and Rice could easily play together as a double pivot, and we have Jorginho and Partey in the squad who he has shown he can play with, too.

As I've said before to people on this forum.

Some people are happy to bring the glory/objective to the club but walk away without enjoying its fruits.

Abit like earning money for your family, and letting them spend it and support themselves without taking any for yourself to enjoy in the pub. Selfless act.

I don't think Xhakas objective was to play CL football. He's done that before.

I think it was get Arsenal back there. And he's done it. For him what, the odd game against Madrid, or AC Milan isn't going to mean much to him. He's had major games.

Now it's the time to pursue another goal and maybe try to lift a team (like Leverkusen) from 6/7th to 3rd.

Rice looks the type that would consider a holiday in Scotland or Wales as "going abroad", so that rules out Yanited as he will never leave London... can't even begin to imagine him playing for a German team like Bayern, ffs.

He will geniunely be retried by the time Sp**s actually get a ****ing manager, so that's them out.

While Chelsea was an option, after what they did to his wife Mount there is no way he joins them now.

He has plenty to improve upon (stopping being a bit of a bellend for one) but Declan does have a lot of potential, Arteta can get the best out of him.
